Michelle‘s first home in Montana was Cooke City. She moved to Montana to work on a ecological research crew in Yellowstone National Park. She now lives in Livingston, Montana, and runs a grassroots environmental organization and her own law practice. Michelle also loves to run long distances in the mountains, climb rocks, and explore the backcountry on her skis. She grew up in Mount Rainier National Park where she learned that children should be allowed limitless opportunities to wander aimlessly in the woods, to climb dangerously high in trees, and to forage for their own food. She believes in the immense power of mothers to positively influence our political systems. And to that end, she drags her two small children and husband to meetings and mountain peaks.
