The Missouri River Breaks are the heart of Montana – recognized as a national monument for its breathtaking beauty and its importance to Native American and American History.
On April 26th, President Trump announced the federal government will review – and potentially reduce or eliminate 27 national monuments, including the Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument in Montana.
When we learned that one of Montana’s own monuments was under review, we packed the kids in the car, rented canoes, and hit the spring runoff of the Upper Missouri. We had to see for ourselves what is at stake.
Our family experienced so much more than we ever imagined.
The Breaks is a unique treasure for families. It’s a wild place. A place to explore and discover history, scenery, and wildlife, but accessible to even the youngest of adventurers. We can’t wait to go back.
Please tell Secretary Ryan Zinke to protect Montana’s celebrated Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument, and keep it just as it is now.
This website http://holdourground.org makes it easy to comment specifically on The Breaks. Montanans, and all Americans, it’s time to hold our ground.
